She’s a Mom. A Star Wars lover.  She has the most infectiously happy laugh you have EVER heard.  (Seriously if you are having a bad day, fear not.  Watch below and prepare for tears of joy.)  Most importantly, Candace just earned the crown as Facebook Live’s first viral video star as she hits  (and counting) in only 24 hours on her latest live broadcast.

It’s been 4 months since Facebook has made live streaming video available to everyone.  Previously it was only available to verified accounts of celebrities and influencers.  Now it has rolled out to the masses and Facebook is taking no prisoners.  The recent explosion in Facebook video Periscope, Snapchat, and YouTube.  At Greenroom Communications, we have seen Facebook heavily favoring video content in the Newsfeed starting last summer in 2015.  Recently, we have also seen great uplift in engagement and reach on our client accounts by using live video to broadcast events, AMA-style interviews, and fun, interactive fan content.

Candace just proved that Facebook Live could help usher in a new wave of authentic, live video stars.  Different than Periscope and Meerkat, the seamless integration into the largest and most active social media network is what makes Facebook Live a game changer.  And for us, a company who believes in making brands more human, that is a very exciting proposition.  Thank you Candace, for sharing your simple joy with us.  Tune into The Ellen Show next week.  We are certain she’s already been booked.
